Bottomley orphanage supports girls in Dhaka whose relatives have passed away or who can not afford to feed and care for them. The orphanage is run by Catholic nuns who take very good care of the girls. Although the orphanage receives some support from the Catholic Church, it’s not enough to feed all of the girls and pay for maintenance, supplies, and activities. Compassion Takes Action works with the sisters to find out the needs if the girls. We have provided school supplies, new carpeting for the concrete floors, and every year we visit to spend the day playing games, singing songs, and doing activities like arts and crafts and painting fingernails. This last year, thanks to fundraising efforts by CTA’s youth team member Ben, we were able to deliver a new pair of shoes to each of the girls. We love these sweet girls and love the work the sisters are doing to keep them fed, housed, and educated.
