The Munda Village Women's Health Initiative

Compassion Takes Action’s Mark and Tina Sarker have helped launched The Women's Health Awareness Program in the Munda villages of Bangladesh. This initiative addresses the unique and devastating challenges faced by the women and girls in these remote villages, particularly regarding menstrual hygiene management and access to vital health resources. This program helps to bring transformative change, alleviate suffering, and restore hope to this isolated and forgotten community.

  • Women's Health Education

Comprehensive Women’s Health Education: Conducting workshops and conferences to educate participants about women’s health, hygiene practices, and routine gynecological care.

  • Cultural Sensitivity Training

Cultural Sensitivity and Awareness: Engaging with the local community to dismantle cultural barriers, fostering open conversations about menstrual health and hygiene. Men are included in receiving health information to enhance understanding and support.

  • Health Screenings

Health Screenings: Integrating health care visits as a key component of the program. Each woman undergoes a comprehensive health examination by a licensed physician, including preventive screenings, diagnosis, and personalized treatment plans for any conditions identified.

  • Days for Girls Kit Distribution

Sanitary Supplies Distribution: Distributing sanitary supplies, facilitated by a generous donation of 500 Days for Girls Kits. Each participant receives a DfG menstruation kit accompanied by detailed training and instructions on proper usage and care. These kits offer long-term solutions for safer hygiene practices and enable girls to continue their education uninterrupted even during menstruation.
