Ghana Borehole Water Well

When we give water, we give life. Not only do we help stop the spread of disease, but we also give children the opportunity to go to school, women the opportunity to care for their families or to work, and for communities to become healthier and stronger.

Water is Life

Women and children are most adversely affected by lack of access to clean water— children because they are more vulnerable to diseases of dirty water and women and girls because they often bear the burden of carrying water for their families for hours each day.

Access to clean water changes everything. When people have access to clean water, they are better able to practice good hygiene and sanitation. Children enjoy good health and are more likely to attend school. Parents put aside their worries about water-related diseases and lack of access to clean water. Instead, they can water crops and livestock and diversify their incomes.
